RODNEY ATKINS SCORES SECOND NUMBER ONE SINGLE WITH "WATCHING YOU"

Nashville, Tenn. (January 16, 2007) -- These days, everybody is watching him. Curb artist Rodney Atkins, who lit up the charts last year, spending four weeks at No. 1 with the title track from his newly RIAA-certified gold album, If You're Going Through Hell, has topped the charts again, this time with the fun-loving "Watching You," a tribute to his 5-year-old son, Elijah.

"I couldn't be more proud to have this song I wrote about me and my son go Number one," said Atkins. " I'm blessed with an incredible family and with the success we're having, the support of country radio and the fans - these are the best days of my life."

Elijah is also featured with Rodney in the video for the song, which currently sits at No. 1 on the CMT Top 20 Countdown. Meanwhile, the album, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard country albums chart and No. 3 on the all-genre Top 200, continues its strong sales, remaining in Billboard's top 5.

Just two months ago, "Watching You" and "If You're Going Through Hell," which was named a finalist for the Billboard Music Awards country single of the year, shared the unusual feat of an artist having two songs in the Top 20 in the same week.

Atkins, who was touted as one of country music's breakout acts of 2006 and had the most-played single on country radio last year, is continuing that momentum with a song critic Robert Oermann has hailed as "Another home run. Not only is this a splendid, soaring country-rock production, the terrific lyric [co-written by Atkins] is an object lesson for parents everywhere."

Fueled by his recent success, Atkins continues to win new fans with powerhouse live performances on stage and TV as he crisscrosses the country showcasing his strong voice and infectious lyrics. Upcoming tour stops include Columbus, Ohio; St. Paul, Minn.; Cincinnati; Cleveland; and Jackson, Miss. Exciting 2007 tour plans will be announced later this week.
