Grammy-Award Winning, Multi-Platinum-Selling Recording Artist Releases One of
the Finest Discs of Her Career
Nashville, TN (June 22, 2005) Grammy award-winner and multi-platinum recording artist, Patty Loveless will
release her new CD, Dreamin My Dreams (Epic Nashville) on September 13, 2005. Since Pattys first disc, Patty Loveless in 1986, she has earned dozens of awards, sold millions of records and amassed
one of the most respected and revered careers in music. Dreamin My Dreams is one more testament to the discriminating musical taste that has elevated
Patty from the pack and forged her name into the annals of country music history.
2005 marks the 20-year anniversary of Pattys partnership with longtime
producer turned husband, Emory Gordy, Jr. The two first met in 1985 when Emory
(with Tony Brown) produced Pattys first recordings. They fell in love, later
wed in 1989 and have been partners in life and music ever since.
Naturally, Gordy returned to the sound board for producer duties
on Dreamin My Dreams. The rich production created with co-producer Justin Niebank, guest vocals from
consummate vocalists Emmylou Harris and Dwight Yoakam and musicianship by such
greats as Stuart Duncan, Lee Roy Parnell, Albert Lee, Bryan Sutton and Rob Ickes
take the listener on a Sunday drive through the best of contemporary country to
the roots of Appalachian mountain music, blues and bluegrass that has become her
signature. I feel much more confident these days in the way I approach a song,
says Loveless. On my last few records, Ive just let myself feel a sense of freedom
and trust. Ive made a lot of records and I feel fortunate to be able to continue
making them. So now I think, I just want to flow with it - enjoy it.
Dreamin My Dreams also showcases Pattys exquisite vocal style with her delicate gift for discovering
the heart of a song. The CD features tracks by Richard Thompson, Jim Lauderdale,
Julie and Buddy Miller, Leslie Satcher, Delbert McClinton, Steve Earle, Delaney
Bramlett, Thom Schuyler, Gary Nicholson, Tony Arata, Pete Wasner, Lee Roy Parnell
and Allen Reynolds. Also included are three tracks co-written by Patty and Emory
Gordy, Jr.
Always, Patty Loveless connects. Going heart to heart with every one of her listeners, she sings their joys
and sorrows. She connects to the ache or tenderness of each songs lyrics. And
she takes the connection back all the way to the soul of country music. Born
and bred country, Patty lives that soul, and with Dreamin My Dreams she again makes it real. That title reminds me of how I first felt when I
came to Nashville, Patty says, I felt I was living my dreams. With this remarkable
album, the dream continues.
Dreamin My Dreams hits stores September 13.
