COUNTRY STAR MIRANDA LAMBERT RAISES $70,000 TO BUILD NEW ANIMAL SHELTER IN TISHOMINGO, OK

Singer continues charitable efforts with official announcement of her
 2009 "CAUSE FOR THE PAWS" event

Lindale, TX (Feb. 19, 2009) Miranda Lambert is pleased to announce that her Oklahoma-based charity event, TAILS (Texoma Animal Improved Living Society), which took place on February 12th, helped raise $70,000 to build a shelter in Tishomingo.  Miranda along with fellow country star Blake Shelton packed the house for a special concert at Murray State College and far surpassed their initial monetary goal.   After Miranda purchased a farm in this community a year ago, she learned that there was a desperate need for a proper shelter.
 
"I am so happy that in this economy people would  spend their hard earned dollars to come together for one night to  support one cause," says Lambert. "The support from the community and volunteers made this possible and we are so grateful that this facility for abused and abandoned animals is now a reality."
 
And on the heels of this accomplishment, Miranda has more good news with an official announcement regarding her Texas based charity event.  After a successful inaugural run, a proud Miranda states a date has been set for her second annual "Cause for the Paws" event, benefiting the Humane Society of East Texas.
 
Sunday, May 17th, Lambert and "Queen of the Road" / Humane Society adoptee, Delilah, will bring together their friends and fans for an intimate evening of great music, wine tasting, and delicious cuisine in the serene setting of Villa Di Felicita in Tyler, TX. With the help of citizens of East Texas and the loyal Ran Fans, last year's event raised over $113,000 to help abused and neglected animals of East Texas.  
 
"I was completely surprised when they announced the total amount raised at last year's event," states an enthusiastic Lambert.  "I can't begin to express my thanks to the committee, the volunteers and those who attended and all those who donated for making my first charity effort a huge success. The shelter, which is run entirely on donations, was able to make great improvements and create better living conditions for the abandoned and abused animals of East Texas. I cannot wait to see what we can make happen for them this year."
 
The wine tasting festival will feature wines from the Lambert family's Red 55 Winery in Lindale as well as five other Texas wineries.  A few of Tyler's finest eateries will serve delicious cuisine followed by an up close and personal acoustic concert performances.  Miranda's special guests will include country superstar Blake Shelton, Nashville Star alum Kasey Musgraves and singer-songwriter Adam Hood.
 
"After being blessed with my tour buddy Delilah from the shelter, I became even more convinced that the saying 'think globally, act locally' was a great motto for me," says Lambert.  "Please join us in beautiful East Texas to help protect those who cannot protect themselves." Tickets go on sale March 1, 2009 at the following locations:

Miranda is currently working on a new record, due out in the fall of 2009, but in the meantime hasn't slowed down one bit.   Her current top 20 hit "More Like Her" from Crazy Ex-Girlfriend continues to climb the charts and just last week Lambert was honored with two ACM nominations - one for Top Female Vocalist and the other for  Single Record of the Year for "Gunpowder & Lead."   Headlining tour stops are scheduled into March and starting this April Lambert finds herself amongst great company as special guest on Kenny Chesney's Sun City Carnival Tour.
