Epic Recording Artist Gets Her Christmas
Wish With Her First RIAA Certification
 
 
Nashville, TN - December 13, 2005 – In a recent interview Miranda Lambert was asked what was at the top of her Christmas list. Her reply? “A gold record!” Lambert’s wish came true when her debut album Kerosene was certified gold signifying sales of more than 500,000 units since its release in late March 2005.

“I couldn’t believe it when I heard the news,” states an excited Lambert. “I’ve been so busy touring and working on my new album that I haven’t been keeping up with the numbers. Now that I got my Christmas wish, I’m going to work on setting my New Year’s resolution - to get a Platinum album in 2006.”
 
Miranda Lambert heard the news after she returned to Nashville from Los Angeles where she taped an episode of the Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson and did a photo shoot for Blender magazine for their March issue (on sale Feb. 14). She can also be seen on Austin City Limits with Gretchen Wilson on February 4 and on the Isaac Mizrahi Show on the Style Network on December 9.

With the release of her debut album Kerosene, Lambert accomplished what only six other country artists in the history of SoundScan have ever done; earned a Number One country album debut on their very first release.  Kerosene went on to be the 2nd highest debut for a new country artist in 2005 and made Lambert one of the Top Selling Debut Country Artists of the year.  Lambert recently toured with CMA Entertainer of the Year Keith Urban and landed a coveted spot opening for Superstar George Strait on his upcoming 2006 tour.  “Kerosene” is currently #24 on Billboard Country Radio Charts.
