  MIRANDA LAMBERT RETURNS HOME
FOR A SURPRISE MOTHER'S DAY VISIT
TO DISCOVER HER MOM
IS HANGING OUT AT THE
NEWEST HOT SPOT IN TOWN

Nashville, Tenn. (May 16, 2006) --   ACM New Female Vocalist Nominee Miranda Lambert has had quite a schedule lately including touring with George Strait, writing and recording for her next project and appearing at various media events and award shows.   Most small towns don't change much in a short time but Miranda returned home to find a new hot spot that everyone was talking about.

The Ya Ya's as well as other friends and family were gathering for a Mother's day dinner in the outdoor pavilion at Mirandaville. Miranda was the most shocked person of all when she entered the store and saw the reflection of herself on every wall and shelf in the store.

“Walking into the store is like walking into my brain – only with less pictures of me!” she laughed.  “My Mom did such great job with everything.  She captured the essence of me – good music, and a front porch to sit on and drink with friends.  This store IS Miranda Lambert!”

Mirandaville had it's grand opening on Saturday, May 13 and fans came in car-loads from across the U.S. to sign the guest book of Miranda Lambert’s Store and Fan Club Headquarters in Lindale, Texas.   East Texas’ KYKX 105.7 FM country radio station was there with a live remote broadcast. One fan club member arrived on a Greyhound bus from Utah and walked from Tyler to Lindale to be there for the opening, according to the singer’s mother and Fan Club President Beverly Lambert.

“We could not have asked for better weather and it didn’t hurt that Lindale city elections were taking place right across the street at City Hall!  A lot of folks stayed and enjoyed the music.”

Although Miranda could not attend the grand opening, her friends and co-songwriters Kacey Musgraves of Mineola and Heather Little of Lindale wowed the crowd with some front porch guitar picking and singing.  The building’s outdoor pavilion seats 60, but the grand opening attracted a standing-room only crowd.

Mirandaville is located directly under the Lindale water tower on Main Street just north of downtown.  Housed in a one of the oldest buildings in town—a rustic building once used as a barber shop—the business sells Miranda Lambert T-shirts, CDs, DVDs, ball caps, posters and fan club memberships, as well as jewelry, belts, hats, boots and fashions in the style the young singer/songwriter wears.  Visitors are encouraged to ring the “Haggard” bell, whenever they hear a Merle Haggard tune playing on the business’ sound system.  A wishing well sits in the center of the outdoor pavilion, reminiscent of a long ago wishing well that the young singer once pitched her penny into and wished to become a star.

Miranda has recently toured with George Strait, Keith Urban, Dierks Bentley and Jason Aldean and has been nominated for several country music awards including two from the Academy of Country Music for Top New Female Vocalist and Video of the Year for Kerosene.  Tune in to CBS Tuesday, May 23 to see Miranda perform her current single, New Strings on the ACM Awards Live broadcast.
