MIRANDA LAMBERT TO DINE WITH THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES AT THE 91ST ANNUAL WHITE HOUSE CORRESPONDENTS DINNER ON APRIL 30

April 27, 2005 (Nashville, TN) -- Epic Nashville Recording Artist Miranda Lambert will be a special guest at the prestigious White House Correspondents Dinner on April 30 in Washington, DC. The WHCD is one of the biggest nights in the nation’s capitol where journalists, celebrities, politicians and political dignitaries mix. Miranda will be the guest of People Magazine and will be escorted to the dinner by People’s Executive Editor Peter Castro. Joining Miranda at the People table will be actress Kristen Chenoweth (Broadway’s Wicked, West Wing).

“Being able to attend this dinner, visit the White House and dine with the President of the United States is beyond thrilling,” exclaimed Miranda. “It’s such a great honor to be a part of Washington history, especially at such a unique event. I had to postpone a tour date to be able to attend and that’s not something I do, but to be honest, I’d probably move my own wedding for this kind of opportunity! I’m so grateful to People Magazine for inviting me to join them at their table.”

Miranda will be wearing a gown by American designer Carmen Marc Valvo who has dressed Kim Cattrall, Cynthia Nixon, Beyonce, Eve, Sheryl Crow, Claire Danes, Bridget Fonda and Kelly Preston among many others.

At the dinner, prizes will be awarded to journalists as well as one aspiring photojournalist for excellence in work from the previous year. Miranda will have a chance to mingle with President George W. Bush and the First Lady at the uniquely intimate and lighthearted event, emceed by Cedric the Entertainer. Past celebrity guests have included Jay Leno, Ben Affleck, Sharon and Ozzy Osborne, Ray Romano, Aretha Franklin and the late Ray Charles and Bob Hope.

Also while in the nation’s capital, Miranda will be treated to a special VIP tour of the White House including the West Wing and after the White House Correspondence Dinner, she’s been invited to attend the Bloomberg after-party at Trade Ministry of the Russian Federation.
