MIRANDA LAMBERT TO DINE WITH THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES AT THE 91ST ANNUAL WHITE HOUSE CORRESPONDENTS DINNER ON APRIL 30
April 27, 2005 (Nashville, TN) -- Epic Nashville Recording Artist Miranda Lambert will be a special guest at the
prestigious White House Correspondents Dinner on April 30 in Washington, DC. The
WHCD is one of the biggest nights in the nations capitol where journalists, celebrities,
politicians and political dignitaries mix. Miranda will be the guest of People
Magazine and will be escorted to the dinner by Peoples Executive Editor Peter
Castro. Joining Miranda at the People table will be actress Kristen Chenoweth
(Broadways Wicked, West Wing).
Being able to attend this dinner, visit the White House and dine
with the President of the United States is beyond thrilling, exclaimed Miranda.
Its such a great honor to be a part of Washington history, especially at such
a unique event. I had to postpone a tour date to be able to attend and thats
not something I do, but to be honest, Id probably move my own wedding for this
kind of opportunity! Im so grateful to People Magazine for inviting me to join
them at their table.
Miranda will be wearing a gown by American designer Carmen Marc Valvo
who has dressed Kim Cattrall, Cynthia Nixon, Beyonce, Eve, Sheryl Crow, Claire
Danes, Bridget Fonda and Kelly Preston among many others.
At the dinner, prizes will be awarded to journalists as well as one
aspiring photojournalist for excellence in work from the previous year. Miranda
will have a chance to mingle with President George W. Bush and the First Lady
at the uniquely intimate and lighthearted event, emceed by Cedric the Entertainer.
Past celebrity guests have included Jay Leno, Ben Affleck, Sharon and Ozzy Osborne,
Ray Romano, Aretha Franklin and the late Ray Charles and Bob Hope.
Also while in the nations capital, Miranda will be treated to a
special VIP tour of the White House including the West Wing and after the White
House Correspondence Dinner, shes been invited to attend the Bloomberg after-party
at Trade Ministry of the Russian Federation.
