MIRANDA LAMBERT HAS A
FLAMEWORTHY FEBRUARY
“Kerosene” Breaks Top 20 and Receives 3 CMT Award
Nominations, Blender Magazine Releases a Smokin’ Four Page Feature
Nashville, TN – February 20, 2006 – February
couldn’t be any hotter for Epic Singer/Songwriter Miranda Lambert as her hit single Kerosene breaks into Billboard’s Top 20,
while collecting three CMT Award Nominations and heating up the pages of Blender Magazine in a steamy four-page feature.
“Getting
a gold record for Christmas was definitely a great way to end 2005. I
couldn’t even start to imagine what 2006 would bring. Then came a great
tour, a top 20 single, three nominations and a flattering feature in
Blender. It’s enough to make a country girl’s head spin! It all seems
like a fast train, but I am lovin’ the ride!”
CMT announced 2006 award nominations and Kerosene
garnered three including Female Video of the Year, Breakthrough Video
of the Year and Trey Fanjoy for Video Director of the Year.
The first round of voting runs from February 15 through March 9 only at
CMT.com, where fans can vote for Miranda. On March 15, CMT
will announce the four finalists in each category except Video of the
Year. Fans can then vote online at CMT.com through Friday, April
7 to determine the winners.
Fans can also catch
Miranda this month in a four page feature in Blender Magazine,
appropriately titled “Tex Appeal,” and on the road through a weekly
tour diary on Billboard.com, where she gives the behind-the-scenes
scoop from country music’s biggest tour.
“Touring with George Strait is just about as good as it gets for
a Texas girl but being with him in so many different cities has made me
realize that “good country folks” are everywhere. I have had such a
blast meeting all the fans out there. Hopefully King George won’t care
that I won a couple of them over to be my fans too! It’s because of
them that Kerosene is one of the hottest selling country albums and
climbing the chart at CMT. To quote my producer, Frank
Liddell "I am really fired up about my career !"
With the release of her debut album Kerosene, Lambert accomplished
what only six other country artists in the history of SoundScan have
ever done; earned a Number One country album debut on their very
first release. Kerosene went on to be the 2nd
highest debut for a new country artist in 2005 and made Lambert one of
the Top Selling Debut Country Artists of the year. Kerosene was recently certified Gold by the RIAA.
