1808 Grille Debuts Celebrity Chef Series with Country Duo Joey + Rory

Nashville's Newest & Most Innovative Restaurant Opens its Kitchen For a Night of Country Cookin' on June 24th

(June 23, 2009) -- NASHVILLE, TN - 1808 Grille is pleased to announce a Celebrity Chef series that partners the restaurant's Executive Chef Charles Phillips with an assortment of Nashville VIP's. 1808 Grille will give each celebrity free reign to come up with a three course menu of their choosing while the Chef helps them prepare and present each meal.

First up to the plate on Wednesday, June 24th, is ACM Nominated Country Duo, Joey + Rory.

The couple burst onto the scene via CMT's "Can You Duet" and since have released two singles from their debut effort, The Life of a Song. Their first single, "Cheater, Cheater" was an infectious radio smash and latest release "Play the Song" gave way to the comical video currently in rotation on CMT.

Those closest to the couple are not only fans of their music, but also of Joey's cooking. Joey along with Rory's sister, Marcy, own Marcy Jo's Mealhouse, a meat-and-three located south of Nashville in Pottsville, TN. When not on the road playing to fans across the country Joey can be found baking breads and waiting tables at the restaurant. Joey's angel biscuit recipe was recently featured in Country Weekly and her famous carrot cake was shared with readers of AOL's The Boot, making her the perfect choice to kick off the series. Rory will be close by to help finalize the menu and may even wait a table or two.

Please join Joey + Rory at 6:30 for cocktail hour where complimentary hors d'oeuvres (southern style) and a signature cocktail will be served.

A talented culinary expert and savvy food and beverage professional, Chef Charles draws his experience and cooking style from culturally-rich cities including Boston, Chicago, New York and Washington, D.C. For the last 15 years, Chef Charles has served various senior chef roles with several private clubs operated by Club Corporation and Starwood Resorts and Hotels, Inc. in the East and South. Most recently, he served as Executive Chef and Food & Beverage Director for The Westin Chicago North Shore in Wheeling, Ill, a AAA Four-Diamond and Mobil Four-Star-rated property. Additionally, Chef Charles has had the privilege of cooking for former President Bill Clinton, international dignitaries, celebrities including Bill Gates, Donald Trump and numerous high-profile musicians.
