Somewhere Down in Texas - PLATINUM

Somewhere Down in Texas hit stores on June 28, 2005. It includes the radio single, “You’ll Be There,” which is the fastest charting of his storied career. Also on the disc is a rendition of the Merle Haggard song, “Seashores of Old Mexico” and a duet with Lee Ann Womack titled, “Good News Bad News.”

50 Number Ones – 6X PLATINUM

George Strait’s 50 Number Ones chronicles the career of a performer so respected and beloved, his fans know him simply as “King George.”  From his first #1, “Fool Hearted Memory,” in 1982 to his 2002 smash, “She’ll Leave You With A Smile,” 50 Number Ones is the definitive anthology and a must have for any country music fan. George Strait has scored more #1’s than any other single artist in history and this collection celebrates that remarkable and record breaking career. 50 Number Ones also includes Strait’s his 51st #, “I Hate Everything,” the only new song on the 2 CD set.

Honkytonkville - PLATINUM

Strait returned to the studio with longtime producer Tony Brown in the fall of 2002 to cut the twelve tracks for this highly anticipated  31st disc.  Honkytonkville hit stores on June 10, 2003 and was certified platinum by the RIAA.

For The Last Time – Live From The Astrodome - GOLD

Recorded in March, 2001on the closing night of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, For The Last Time- Live from the Astrodome marked the final show in the Astrodome in Houston before it was razed to build a new stadium. There are 16 live tracks on the disc including old favorites like “The Fireman” and “Amarillo By Morning.” Released on February 11, 2003, For the Last Time, Strait’s 30th disc, is his very first live collection. The live DVD of the historic sold out concert hits stores on March 4.

20th Century Masters - PLATINUM

Strait personally chose the 12 selections on The Best Of George Strait edition of 20th Century Masters/The Millennium Collection. Released on March 26, 2002, the CD spans a full decade, 1983–1993, and the platinum albums If You Ain’t Lovin’ (You Ain’t Livin’), Beyond The Blue Neon, Livin’ It Up and Right Or Wrong; double platinums Easy Come, Easy Go and Ocean Front Property, and the six times platinum, Pure Country soundtrack. Each track on the disc was a #1 country hit and has been digitally remastered for the compilation.

Road Less Traveled - PLATINUM

George’s most recent studio record has already spawned three singles including the # 1 smash hit, “Living and Living Well” which stayed atop the country music charts for four weeks!  The album, which also includes the singles “Run” and “She’ll Leave You With A Smile” has been certified platinum.

George Strait - GOLD

Released in September of 2000, the gold certified CD contains three hit singles - “Go On”, “Don’t Make Me Come Over There (and love you)” and “If You Can Do Anything Else.”  When asked about the eponymous title of this CD, George replied jokingly, “ Yeah, I ran out of CD titles so I just stuck my name on there.”

Latest Greatest Straitest Hits – DOUBLE PLATINUM

This platinum selling CD contains an assortment of 15 of George’s latest greatest hits including 12 #1 singles plus the hit duet with Alan Jackson, “Murder on Music Row,” which went on to win the CMA’s “Vocal Event of the Year.”  A copy of this CD even traveled into space at the request of Space Shuttle Endeavor pilot, Lt. Col. Paul Lockhardt who took his autographed copy along with him to the international space station in 2002.

Merry Christmas Wherever You Are - GOLD

George Strait released this CD, his second Christmas collection, in 1999.  The gold selling compilation includes some of George’s favorite Christmas tunes like “Let It Snow, Let It Snow, Let it Snow” and “The Christmas Song.”

Always Never The Same - PLATINUM

This platinum selling CD produced the smash hit single “Write This Down” which stayed at #1 for 4 weeks as well as a top music video.  It also includes “Meanwhile” and “What Do You Say To That.”

One Step At A Time – DOUBLE PLATINUM

All three singles from this double-platinum CD hit the #1 spot on the charts.  They include, “I Just Want To Dance With You,” “True” and “We Really Shouldn’t Be Doing This.” It was released in the spring of 1998. 

Carrying Your Love With Me – TRIPLE PLATINUM

Carrying Your Love With Me debuted at the top spot on the Country music charts in April of 1997. It went on to win “Album of the Year” awards from both the CMA and AMA. To date, it has sold more than 3 million copies.

Blue Clear Sky – TRIPLE PLATINUM

Blue Clear Sky is one of George’s most touted discs. The triple platinum selling CD, which released in the spring of 1996, went on to win “Album of the Year” awards from the CMA, ACM and AMA.  It produced three #1 singles including “Blue Clear Sky,” “Carried Away” and “I Can Still Make Cheyenne.”

Strait Out Of The Box – 8X PLATINUM

Strait Out of the Box, the true George Strait anthology, chronicles his amazing recording career. It includes 72 of some of the greatest songs in country music including a few before his recording deal with MCA in 1981 and a couple of fresh tracks. One of which, the #1 smash “Check Yes or No,” was the CMA’s and ACM’s “Single of the Year.” To date, this must-have set for any audiophile has sold over seven million units.  

Lead On – DOUBLE PLATINUM

Released in late 1994, Lead On has been certified double-platinum with sales of over two million copies.  “Lead On” and “You Can’t Make A Heart Love Somebody” from the disc went straight to #1 and  “Adalida” reached #2.

Easy Come Easy Go – DOUBLE PLATINUM

Easy Come Easy Go, George’s double-platinum 1993 release, features the #1 hit songs, “Easy Come, Easy Go” and “I’d Like To Have that One Back.” That same year, George
received the "Tex Ritter Award" for his work in the movie "Pure Country."

Pure Country – 6X PLATINUM

Pure Country, the blockbuster soundtrack from the hit movie “Pure Country” starring George Strait was released in late 1992. It is among the biggest-selling country soundtracks in history with sales of over six million. Every single from the disc hit the #1 spot including, “Heartland,” “I Cross My Heart” and “When Did You Stop Loving Me”.  Pure Country was also the first pairing with co-producer Tony Brown.

Holding My Own - PLATINUM

This platinum selling CD, released in the spring of 1992, features the #5 hit, “Gone As A Girl Can Get” and “So Much Like My Dad” which reached #1. That same year, George wrapped shooting for his full-length feature film, “Pure Country.”

Ten Strait Hits - PLATINUM

George Strait’s third greatest hits compilation, Ten Strait Hits, was released at the end of 1991. To date it has sold over a million copies. The disc includes, “Famous Last Words of a Fool” and “Love Without End, Amen.”

Chill Of An Early Fall - PLATINUM

This platinum selling CD spawned four singles including the #1 hit, “If I Know Me” which was also a hit music video. 

Livin’ It Up - PLATINUM

Livin’ It Up was released in the spring of 1990. On it, you’ll find “Love Without End, Amen” and “I’ve Come To Expect It From You,” two of George’s many number-one singles. They both held the top spot for five full weeks.

Beyond The Blue Neon - PLATINUM

This platinum selling disc was released in the winter of 1989. That same year, George won coveted “Entertainer of the Year” awards from both the Country Music Association and the Academy of Country Music. The CD produced four singles, three of which reached #1 including the highly requested tunes, “What’s Going On In Your World” and “Baby’s Gotten Good At Goodbye.” The CD also contains, “Ace in the Hole” which is the name of George’s back up band.

If You Ain’t Lovin’ You Ain’t Livin’ - PLATINUM

“If You Ain’t Lovin’ (You Ain’t Livin’),” “Baby Blue” and “Famous Last Words Of A Fool” all spawned from this collection which reached platinum status shortly after its release in February of 1988.

Greatest Hits Volume II – TRIPLE PLATINUM

Greatest Hits Volume II, George Strait’s second collection of greatest hits, has sold over three million copies.  Seven of the 10 cuts on this CD were #1 songs.  It is widely considered to be one of the best collections of George Strait classics with cuts like “Does Fort Worth Ever Cross Your Mind,” “The Cowboy Rides Away,” “The Fireman,” The Chair,” “Ocean Front Property” and “All My Exes Live in Texas” all included on the disc.

Ocean Front Property – DOUBLE PLATINUM

Ocean Front Property was the first album to ever debut at #1 on the Billboard Country Music charts.  The disc features the title track, “Am I Blue” and “All My Exes Live in Texas.” Every single from the CD went straight to #1 and to date, it has sold over two million copies. 

Merry Christmas Strait To You – DOUBLE PLATINUM

George Strait released this first Christmas collection in the fall of 1996. It includes the classic carols, “White Christmas” and “Winter Wonderland.”  This perennial favorite for country music fans has been certified double platinum.

Number 7 - PLATINUM

Number 7 was, in fact, George Strait’s 7th MCA Album.  “Nobody In His Right Mind Would Have Left Her” and “It Ain’t Cool To Be Crazy About You” were the two singles released from this album. They were both were #1 hits and helped earn George his second CMA “Male Vocalist of the Year” award.

Something Special - PLATINUM

Something Special was co-produced by George and famed MCA label head, Jimmy Bowen, marking George’s first foray into album production. The #1 song, “The Chair” can be found on this platinum selling gem which released in 1985. 1985 also marked George’s first CMA “Male Vocalist of the Year” win. 

Greatest Hits – 4X PLATINUM

This was George Strait’s 1st greatest hits collection and it went on to sell over 3,000,000 copies. It included hits from his first four MCA albums, including such standouts as “Unwound” and “Fool Hearted Memory” and spent an astonishing 12 years on the Billboard Country Album Charts.

Does Ft. Worth Ever Cross Your Mind - PLATINUM

Released in 1984, this platinum selling album earned “Album of the Year” awards from the Country Music Association and the Academy of Country Music.  It includes such classic standards as “Does Ft. Worth Ever Cross Your Mind,” “The Fireman” and “This Is Where The Cowboy Rides Away.”

Right Or Wrong - PLATINUM

This platinum selling album was the only one George recorded with producer Ray Baker but it included such memorable songs as “You Look So Good In Love”, “Right Or Wrong” and “Let’s Fall To Pieces Together”.  It was released in October of 1983.

Strait From The Heart - PLATINUM

For George’s sophomore effort, Strait From the Heart, he once again teamed up with producer Blake Mevis. Released in 1982, it went on to reach platinum status and included such notable singles as “Fool Hearted Memory,” “Marina Del Rey” and one of George’s most requested songs, “Amarillo By Morning.”

Strait Country - PLATINUM

Strait Country was George Strait’s debut MCA album and the one that started it all. It produced such classic hits as “Unwound,” “Down And Out” and his first #1 single, “If You’re Thinking You Want A Stranger.”  It was released in 1981.
